Ordination of Deacon Peggy Ventris to the Priesthood!

The Right Reverend J. Jon Bruno, Bishop of Los Angeles ordained Peggy Ventris to the Sacred Order of Priests in Christ's one holy catholic and apostolic church on Saturday, 17 December 2011, at St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Twentynine Palms.

Your prayers and presence are requested in support of her new ministry.

St. Martin’s regularly hosts the community Breaking Bread Ministry that serves free meals each Saturday to the community. Cooking, serving and working at the non-denominational Breaking Bread Ministry is fun and rewarding. If you would like to help see Pete Newman or Contact Us. The next one will be announced soon. These meals are served to the needy in the Community at the Little Church in the Desert multi-purpose room by most of the churches in Twentynine Palms.

Desert Journeys are organized by Fr. Caffrey. The next journey will be the Summer Campout Retreat, to be announced. This is our 24th Anniversary year. Please contact David at (951) 314-2301 or Contact Us to sign up, get directions or to share ideas.

The Mutual Ministry meetings are the third Friday of each month at St. Joseph’s in Yucca Valley. Need a Ride? Mutual Ministry recognizes that baptized lay persons are ministers of the Church. All ministry is Christ's. Every baptized person is an active participant in the Body of Christ (the Church), each according to gift.

Please consider giving items or money for the Twentynine Palms Food Pantry They will be brought up after the announcements to be blessed before being taken to the Pantry. Thanks to everyone who helped at the last Parish Work Day at St. Martin’s, we will have another one in the spring. We plan to pour some concrete and paint the outside of the church with a more energy efficient paint. We are also installing lighting that will reduce light pollution and preserve our precious desert night sky.

The Annual meeting will be on February 5th, we will elect the new Bishop’s Committee members.

The money from your generous donations and fund raising activities sent five of our youth to Summer Camp. We hope send another young person this summer. THANK YOU! .
