Bible Study – Currently we are listening
to a series of lectures by Dr.
Luke Timothy Johnson, “Jesus
and the Gospels” followed by guided discussion. We have explored the Holy Land through a
video series by Ray Vanderlaan. We
have discussed prayer, including different types of prayer, methods that people
have used through the years such as centering prayer, healing prayer and
other related issues. Please join us and share with us on our journey of
faith in the Word. St.
Martin’s regularly hosts the community Breaking Bread Ministry that serves
free meals each Saturday to the community.
Cooking, serving and working at the non-denominational Breaking Bread
Ministry is fun and rewarding. If you
would like to help see Pete Newman or Contact
Us. The next one will be
announced soon. These meals are
served to the needy in the Community at the Little Church in the Desert
multi-purpose room by most of the churches in Twentynine Palms. Desert
Journeys are organized by Fr. Caffrey.
The next journey will be the Spring Campout Retreat, to be
announced. This is our 23nd

next Desert Cluster will be announced soon. Need a Ride? Desert Cluster is a meeting of the five
parishes in the Desert area. It is a
chance for fellowship, lunch and Gospel-Based Discipleship. Please
consider giving items or money for the Twentynine
Palms Food Pantry or clothing for the Shepard’s
Closet. They will be brought up
after the announcements to be blessed before being taken to the Pantry. The Food Pantry is also listed on

to everyone who helped at the last Parish Work Day at St.
Martin’s, we will have another one in the spring. We plan to pour some concrete and paint
the outside of the church with a more energy efficient paint. We are also installing lighting that will
reduce light pollution and preserve our precious desert night sky. The
Annual meeting will be on January 25th,we will elect the new Bishop’s
Committee members. The
money from your generous donations and fund raising activities sent two of
our youth to The
Holy Land last summer. THANK YOU! DO
